As you read your Fire Bible, you will see 3 important features: Section Headings, Cross References, and Footnotes.
None of these are part of the original text of the Bible, but they were added to help us find our way throughout the Bible.
Let’s talk a little bit about each one.
Section Headings are short topical statements to help you understand the subject and content of each section.
Cross References are found in the center column closest to the crease. These references are carefully chosen to help you connect one Bible verse with with a similar theme.
This system can help clarify difficult passages using Scripture itself.
The cross-references typically appear in the inside column and, when necessary, because of space, continue at the bottom of the inside column under footnotes.
Footnotes are found at the bottom of each page and contain a word, phrase, or concept that requires extra explanation.
Tiny italic numbers indicate a footnote following a word in a verse. The note is then given at the bottom of the inside text column.
These footnotes include page numbers, references to charts, maps, and articles at the end of your Fire Bible.
